Some Reviews About Interesting Anime Shows
Ever felt bored of watching two or three long, seemingly never-ending animes, wishing there were awesome ones that didn’t take forever to watch?
I wasn’t very certain when i began writing this article on which animes to summarize for the readers, so i decided to write about two of my favorites for starters, “tagging” them for your convenience… Please, feel free to comment on my thoughts and to share your own experiences for my own joy!
Ikkitousen
Sequels: Ikkitousen Dragon Destiny, Ikkitousen Great Guardians
number of episodes: about 13 if memory serves right, and both sequels are close to that aswell.
tags: Action, Comedy, Ecchi
Ikkitousen is a story set on a world where 1800 years ago, heros wandered through China, battling eachother for many historical motives, and since then, have been “revived” as part of people’s destiny.
The people of today, namely, the students of seven schools in Japan, are called “Touchi” and have the same names as those warriors of 1800 years in the past. Just like certain people in the past died early, or beat others into their underlings, the very same happens to the people in the present; they are tied to their fate, and are powerless as puppets, reinacting the same, 1800 year old historical events of the past.
The main character, Sonsaku Hakufu, is a careless girl who couldn’t care less about all those things, and joins in the Touchi “theatrical play” just because she enjoys to fight; However, she is bound to have the same fate as the Sonsaku Hakufu of 1800 years before, who was obsessed with destruction and was killed while still young. A show to not miss, that is almost defenitely going to have more sequels – the manga is still being written!
Gundam 00
Sequel: Gundam 00 2nd Season
number of episodes: can’t really remember but id say about 23 each season
tags: Action, Mecha, Drama, Science-Fiction
A few hundreds of years in the future, the world is divided into three political factions, the United Earth Federation (North America + South America + some countries who they forced to join them through economic pressure), the European Federation (probably got the name wrong on this one, its pretty much self-explanable though) and the HRL (Human Reform League, made by a few African and Asian countries). Each of these 3 factions owns a third of the energy generated by the solar elevator that surrounds the Earth, providing energy to the world; no more fossil fuels made humans to develop that elevator so they could have a new energy source… But, even though there are so many scientific inovations, peace is yet to be achieved, and that is how the story begins with an assault made by a team of terrorists who call themselves Celestial Being… a defense for the world from the world itself, who claims to be fair and to use military force to intervene in all wars, ending them, regardless of what humanity calls them or their actions for the sole benefit of a peaceful future.
This is a really good show in my opinion, and is very worthy spending your time on; it is by far the best of the Gundam series i have seen, not to mention one of the best series out there for a 46 or so episodes anime. It has depth, the hero that isn’t completely good, the villains who think themselves good, ruining this world for it’s own sake, and then, the realistic sides of politics and military schemes that add to the mix a sense of humanity in all the insanity that makes the world less and less stable, less and less peaceful, all for a better future…
