  •  The Klein bottle House

 

The Klein bottle House situates itself on the Mornington Peninsula 1.5 hrs from Melbourne,a few meters away from the sandy beach. It was actually designed and developed by topological mathematicians. The house occupies roughly 258m2 and revolves around a central courtyard, with a magnificent stair connecting all the levels, creating a sense of both being near and far to all occupants. The materials employed include metal sheeting, bamboo veneer, ceramic tile and glass mosaic tile.

  • Robert Bruno’s steel house

Architect and sculptor Robert Bruno’s steel house/sculpture is situated in Lubbock, Texas. Bruno spent 23 years of his precious time building this huge and strange home that looks like a wild pig out of 110 tons of steel. This home originally intended to be only 1 story, he kept adding on, carving away, adjusting walls, etc and as a result, this unique building was built. Walls inside are either welded metal or original stained glass creations.

Fallingwater residence is surely most photogenic private house built in the 20th century. Despite its remote location, it is undoubtedly one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most widely acclaimed works. Built on a waterfall, this home was designed in 1936 for Edgar J. Kaufmann. Fallingwater was constructed of sandstone quarried on the property and was built by local craftsmen.

This 11 story (185 feet or 56 meters high) building is found in the heart of Seatle,Washington. Rem Koolhas and Hoffman Construction Company designed and built this unique 34000 m2 glass and steel building. This public library can support 1.4 millions books and also provide underground parking facilities for 140 vehicles. It is estimated that nearly 2 millions people visited this library on its first year.

This oceanfront building was designed and built by Dale Naegle in 1968 for Sam Bell. The unusual design of the house was meant to withstand earthquakes and inclement weather, all while looking futuristic.(well for 1968).The Mushroom House is situated in the Black’s Beach area of La Jolla, California.

This famous 220 000m2 tower (60m) is located in the Wacken district of Strasbourg, in France. Built at a cost of 3.1 billion French frans,it is largest European institution with nearly 785 seats and is one of the biggest and most visible buildings in Strasbourg.It usually houses the chamber for plenary sassions. The building was designed by Paris-based team of architects, Architecture Studio Europe in 1991.

  • Blur Building,Suiza

The Blur Building by architects Diller & Scofidio was a pavilion created for the Swiss national expo in 2002. The pavilion is made of filtered lake water shot as a fine mist through 13,000 fog nozzles creating an artificial cloud that measures 300 feet wide by 200 feet deep by 65 feet high.Nowadays high-pressure spraying technology, atomized the water into small microscopic droplets enabling most of them remained suspended in the air. The public can approach Blur via a ramped bridge.

This creative and weird home was constructed by a Polish businessman and philanthropist to remind people of wrongdoings against humanity. It’s believed that it was actually a clever piece of marketing for a company specialized in the construction of timber frame houses. They’ve created a “showhouse village” showing different examples of the type of houses they can build.
