My Great Passion for Buildings: London

My Great Passion for Buildings: London

The great buildings I saw in my trip to London.

Recently I went to a trip to London and I was really interested in the all the castles, towers, bridges ext… The buildings had a great feel and look it was almost like I was talking to the buildings from my experience. I have been interested in buildings all my life and have shown great interest in them. I wrote this article to show my passion for buildings.

Tower of London

I admire this building because of the old medieval style and the building type of a castle/fortress. This building was built in 1000s by the river Thames and took approximately 30 years to build this amazing tower was founded nearly a millennium ago, The Tower of London which is not actually a tower at all  has been expanded upon over the centuries by many kings and queens.

Tower Bridge

The building was designed by the architect Horace Jones this building has old Victorian style that’s why I like it. The building was built in the 1800s it took eight years to build and 5 major contractors and the relentless labor of 432 construction workers to build the Tower Bridge.

The building is amazing wonderful and brilliant I would call this a wonder of the world.

Westminster Abbey

I love this building because of the English Gothic with Benedictine planning style; this building is a major landmark in London, and the site of coronation for the English monarchy. The Abbey has been the coronation church since 1066 and is the final resting place of seventeen monarchs.

Saint Paul’s cathedral

I think this one of my favorite buildings in London I haven’t got much to say on this building but the all the architectural love I have for this building the late and the masonry, brick, timber, and cut stone construction system.

The buildings above are just some of the magnificent buildings in London find about more buildings across  the world in my later articles.
