Stroke of Genius or Just Plain Lego Madness
A throwback building toy known as Lego has exploded in popularity in the last decade, but even more impressive than that, is the extremely brilliant Lego creations by its generations of fans. The Lego masterpieces that are featured in this article will blow you away.
Who hasn’t opened a tub of Lego building boxes and spent hours building what in your mind was suppose to be an exact scale replica of the Empire State Building, however when completed it was nothing more than a boxy stack of plastic color bricks? Unless, you had an art background, the Lego bricks were never going to be anything more than a clumsy mish mash of assorted plastic blocks. This statement is probably true for most of us, but there are many talented Lego builders out there in the world and this article attempts to shine the light on several of the best Lego masterpiece creations that I have had the pleasure to see.
Before, we get started, I feel the need to express to my readers that this article in no way tries to judge these Lego masterpiece creations based on any kind of survey or is this article intended to serve as any type of top 10 lists. This article contains my personal opinions and reflects my personal taste in art and good taste. My readers may discover another Lego masterpiece creation that they feel is even better than those in this article and I respect their personal opinions and good taste.

After accidentally stumbling across an image of an absolutely amazing Lego sculpture called Gray by Brick Master Nathan Sawaya it inspired this article. Forgive me, for not describing the “Gray” sculpture, as you need to see it to fully appreciate it.

Lego Master Brick Master Sean Kenney drips with building talent that continues to astound the senses. For me personally, I really admire the 3-foot Homer Simpson Lego sculpture that he built. Just how exactly he is able to make these tiny, assorted color bricks come together and form a nearly exact replica of this lovable television character is beyond my ability to comprehend.
Lego Art: AUDI R10
Now, this is a AOL video that follows a Lego Brick Master and friends as they prepare a AUDI R10 that is entirely built using 20,000 Lego Bricks for shipping to a Winding Road Magazine photography shoot. It is an interesting reveal into the behind-the-scenes workings of the business that is usually never seen.
Frechen

Honestly, I don’t really know what Frechen is, but by the looks of things it is some type of Lego building competition. The Lego buildings that are contained on this page are absolutely fantastic. The sheer size and attention to detail makes these buildings and structures some of the best in the world.
Micro Taj Mahal

Not all Lego masterpiece creations need to be larger than life super-structures as this beautifully built replica of the Taj Mahal demonstrates. What’s most interesting is the reflection pool that is reflecting the magnificent monument and the detail used throughout this wonderful masterpiece.
A-Wing Carrier

Ok, I’ll admit that I have no idea what an A-Wing Carrier is, but that is not important as this Lego masterpiece is big, bold and beautifully built. As you allow your eyes to wonder through the ship you’ll soon notice the finite details from the cabins to the corridors and everything place in-between.
Lego Guitar Hero Controller 3

Get ready to rock! This is a scale replica of a Guitar Hero Controller 3 that the designer said was based off of a Fender Jazz Bass. This guitar looks so real that I bet most people would have to stop for a second look, because at a quick glance it would appear to be the real thing and not an awesome toy replica made out of Lego Bricks.
BrickTopia

Get ready to have your socks knocked off, because this is a comprehensive collection of large skyscrapers, cathedrals, and many other kinds of buildings and replicas that are entirely made using Lego Bricks and accessories. There are many to look at in awl and envy, but it takes years of practice, patience and dedication to get this good.
LegoCity

So, I saved the best for last and this impressive large scale Lego city is the perfect anchor for ending this article. Wow, let’s see where to start, because this Lego masterpiece creation has incorporated everything that an actual living city would need to operate, but it isn’t a living city. There are all kinds of buildings from hospitals to skyscrapers and there is a soccer arena with grandstands. Streets, cars and people snake through the city as boats sail the harbor. Trains steam down the rails and airplanes taxi the runway preparing for clearance to takeoff. Seeing believes and this one is a definite must-see.
