Top 10: Most Unusual Architecture

Top 10: Most Unusual Architecture

Arguably the ten strangest of structural engineering oddities from around the world.

Hello, Trionder!

Architecture. It’s a symbol of a country’s engineering capabilities; it’s an allegory for its culture and its people. From Old Western to Old English, from Continental to Contemporary: a country’s architecture is an essential ingredient to its identity. What would Germany be like without its signature timbered houses? What would France be like without its early French Chateaux and Baroque style, or its more recent Art Nouveau and Art Deco architecture?

Let us delve into the topsoil of extreme structures. This is a list of what we believe to be the oddest of them all…

10. London City Hall (London, UK)

I love how this building is skewed with a rounded dome and tiered levels. Wouldn’t you love to visit this place?

9. “Thin House” (London, UK)

Could you imagine living in this? Nah, not a phenomenal engineering brainchild. Actually, this is not even an actual house; it was built to hide the railway behind it. A very interesting abode nonetheless!

8. “Crazy Hotel” (Bratislava, Slovakia)

This has an exceptionally artsy feel to it. It reminds me of a graffiti-riddled L.A. frlom the 70’s.

7. Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum (Minneapolis, MN)

This is very hard to describe, but it has a futuristic Industrial design. Located in Minnesota.

6. School of Design OCAD Building (Toronto, Canada)

Can’t you tell this is a School of Design? Nah, me neither.

5. Chang’s “Elephant Building” (Bangkok, Thailand)

Can you see the elephant yet? I found this rather hilarious.

4. Robert Bruno’s “Steel House” (Lubbock, TX)

This one kind of looks like a rusty school bus on stilts. Or maybe not…

3. “Mushroom House” (Cincinnati, OH)

Wouldn’t you love to visit this place? I love the elevated greenhouse. Very cute.

2. Aqua Building (Chicago, IL)

This is very wavy; it almost looks like a reef. Don’t stare at it for too long or you’ll kill yourself.

1. Scottish Parliament Building (Edinburgh, Scottland)

Simply amazing. This is absolutely my top pick for the most amazing work of art-chitecture (get it?).

Thanks for joining me in my effort to list off the most amazing buildings in the world. Please keep the comments coming, as I love to hear feedback from my readers!

Thank you!
