Renaissance Writers
The advances William Shakespeare, Miguel de Cervantes, and Niccolo Machiavelli made in the literary world.
In the Renaissance period, writing was an amazing advance in Europe’s culture and became a prominent part of the Renaissance. The Renaissance was the time after the Middle Ages when feudalism had just declined. Humanism, or seeing how much humans can accomplish, rose. Europe got the printing press idea from China so they could produce books faster and it was cheaper, allowing more people to obtain books. In the Medieval Ages, people wrote in the uncial script, but in the Renaissance, writers continued to write in calligraphy, but changed to the Italian script. Ink and quills were used to copy down writing. Writers brought across new ideas by writing tradegies, comedies, and about everything in between. Among the great writers of the Renaissance, the three most important were William Shakespeare, Niccolo Machiavelli, and Miguel de Cervantes.
Shakespeare was an influential writer in the Renaissance. He wrote poems and plays, and made advances in writing. He influenced changes in usage of words and language. “Shakespeare wrote eleven plays” that would grow popular in later generations. “Romeo and Juliet”, “MacBeth”, and “Hamlet” were among the most praised and prominent of his works. There was much controversy about Shakespeare’s work because it was much different from writing in that period. Half of the people thought his writing was horrible, and the other half believed he was a genius, which is the side people took after time. Shakespeare was an extremely astounding writer.
Another famous writer of the Renaissance era was Miguel de Cervantes. Cervantes wrote a variety of different types of writing. He wrote novels, poems, and was a dramatist. Cervantes was best known for his beloved two-volume novel Don Quixote. The novel is about a crazed man who rides into wild adventures and attempts to save his lover. He began writing Don Quixote returning home from Spain. A captive of the African Moors, Cervantes recorded Don Quixote’s adventures from his cell in prison. In conclusion, Miguel de Cervantes had a extraordinary impact on the literary world.
Machiavelli was a very influential writer. He was a very prominent Italian of the Renaissance. He wrote books and was involved in politics. The writing Machiavelli was recognized for “The Prince”. This book depicted how Machiavelli believed a prince should act and how exactly to obtain rule. He became knowledgeable on the topic of ruling and politics. He often had a role close by rulers such as princes. Machiavelli furthered the explanation of ruling through his writing.
William Shakespeare, Miguel de Cervantes, and Niccolo Machiavelli were extreme influences on the Renaissance era. All three of them were European writers, though they wrote about different subjects. Shakespeare wrote plays and poems that would stay famous for centuries to come and sparked more tradegies, comedies, dramas, and mixes of all three. Cervantes wrote a brilliant tale that influenced more fantasy writing. Machiavelli shared his views on how rulers like princes should act. Shakespeare, Cervantes, and Machiavelli were all great factors in the advances of literature in the Renaissance.

Used “influential” too often.
Besides that, good writing. I’m doing a report on the Renaissance and this helped to further my understanding of it a great deal.

Sorry, but I guess you might confuse some people by providing wrong information… Shakespeare wrote 35 plays, not just ten. And the printing press was invented in Cologne, Germany by Gutenberg. These are basics.
