The Blanco Family Museum V

The museum’s location and the town itself lends some aura of creativity aside from the artists themselves… Like the artists in the town of Angono, little has been said about the place itself however it has produced some of the Philippines National Artists.

It has been said that one comes away from a visit in this museum with a feeling of inspiration to pick up a brush and paint and also a feeling of pride of being a Filipino.

Blanco’s fame rests mainly on giant oil-on-canvas works, his work was largely confined to Angono, it has been said that the father Blanco never really left Angono, Rizal. Because of the towns romantic location and it’s folk-art traditions, Angono ordinarily styles itself as the “Art Capital of the Philippines”. The claim has some basis to it since the town has produced two other National Artists – Francisco the painter and Lucio San San Pedro a Nationla Artist forr Music. Note, we say some basis because Baguio City, a town in Northern Luzon, is also home to some other Filipino artists and actively promotes art as well is also often being referred to as the Philippines’ art capital.
