For Tattoo Lovers

This is the latest of my tattoos which I got from India in Buddhist script. It is quite a famous “mantra” because I saw on a number of Tibetian prayer wheels.

Isn’t it absolutely beautiful? I got this mantra tattooed on my shoulder about a year back, in India. Though it literally mean ‘Hail the jewel of the lotus’, people believe it symbolises a much deeper meaning. Personally I think it sure does looks stunning. Taking the concept one step further, I’d like to see a lotus tattooed around this one but can’t seem to get the right design for it. Though it seemed as if it took ages when I got it done (its very detailed and intricate) it sure looks worth the wait now!

hey, great tat! how did u design it? do u noe a place where u can design it online where u can translate from english to mantra?

no sorry…unfortunately not every sentence or word in english can be converted into a mantra :( so im not reallly sure if you can do that in the first place…however, you may want to try a sanskrit inspired font or something similar :) I hope it helps

hello there, just wanted to say that i have this EXACT same tattoo on my arm, same script and cursive style, same size even. i found an image of it on the internet after searching the mantra Om mani padme hung. i also have been planning on adding a lotus flower to it, and a koi fish, i think i will be doing it next week actually

Brandon Boyd(singer of the american rock band, incubus) has the same exact tattoo on his forearm in red. Also has a red koi directly underneath by his elbow.. Thought i’d share:)
