Rumba’s Sensuality
The dance that moves the senses countless times.
Rumba is considered the slowest and the most sensual among hundreds of dances all over the world, particularly the Latin American dances.
It is danced with an overstated hip movements accompanied by a very slow and sexy music, usually a melodious love song, figuratively complimenting the sensitivity on the part of the woman and the aggressiveness on the part of the man. Thus, making it described as the dance of emotions.
If it is to be observed, Rumba is a subtle expression of seduction, with the man on pursuit of the woman’s love and the woman on the defensive manner. It is manifested solely through small steps accentuated with hip sways and swings, equally focusing on the bending and straightening of the knees.
This romantic dance, which was originated in and introduced by Cuba in the 16th century, has gone a long way now and even became one of the favorite dances in many countries, mostly used in ballroom dancing and in international competitions.

Thank you so much, Christine. I love it, too, that’s why I put it in writing.

Yes, the Rumba is a beautifully sensual dance, when preformed properly. I can’t dance, but I truly love watching others

I loved the article. My husband and I both used to go ballroom and latin dancing. We always liked the Rumba the best. Good work.
