I myself am not a graceful or skilled dancer by any means, but watching dancers perform, the movement, the music it is so beautiful. With all the dance craze going on TV I thought I would put together a list of the hottest dances from around the world.

5. Krumping

The hip hop krump dance is an energetic and aggressive style of dance born from dancing groups in Southern California. Krumping involves one-on-one and group dances that involve physical contact, exaggerated movements and playing a certain role based on your desired style of krumping.

Some may not agree this is a sexy dance but this new style of dancing has attracted a whole generation of dancers. This dance can be very sexy when done in groups. The style can be straight pumping moves or mixed up to tell tale. This dance is what I call the aggressive sexy it’s about pushing and pulling, popping your body and highlighting your bodies features and flexibility…very hot.

4. Flamenco

This is a very sexy dance. This dance has been danced by gypsies and middle eastern societies for years. The dance it’s self is full of life but the dance can only be complimented by the music that it follows. The music and more importantly the singing, “Cante is the most important element in this dance style.  Originally flamenco was comprised purely of Cante, with hand clapping “Palmas” or knuckle rapping percussive accompaniment. The guitar, a variation of the Arabic Oud, was gradually incorporated in the 19th century. The strongest influences evident in the evolution of Flamenco singing and music can be traced from:

• Punjabi singing of India
• Persian Zyriab song form
• Classical Andalusian Orchestras of the Islamic Empire
• Jewish Synagogue Chants
• Mozarabic forms such as Zarchyas and Zambra
• Arabic Zayal which themselves are the foundation for Fandangos
• Andalusian regional folk forms
• Western African influences via the slaves of the New World Caribbean, Central and South American colonies. These include Rumba, Garotin, Guajiras, Columbianas, etc.

3. Salsa

Just the name alone sounds sexy, of course salsa is not easily defined. None really knows who invented this dance, some say it was the cubans other say the Puerto Ricans, the truth is they both and others have contributed to the long history of the Salsa dance.

Salsa is similar to Mambo in that both have a pattern of six steps danced over eight counts of music. The dances share many of the same moves. In Salsa, turns have become an important feature, so the overall look and feel are quite different form those of Mambo. Mambo moves generally forward and backward, where Salsa has more of a side to side movement. The salsa dance is hot, hot, hot.

2. The Can Can

Not all would agree this is a sexy dance, but it is one of the most popular show dance styles in the world. The Cancan is a hot dance that believ it or not has been toned down since it originally started. This dance is the style most recognized at the Moulin Rouge in Paris france. This dance where the women use to where no panties is full of kicks, flips, kart wheels and all kinds of acrobatic moves. This dance is all abut the leg and the kick. It’s a show dance and very entertaining and a bit naughty.

1. The Tango

This dance originated in Spain possibly Morocco, the tango was introduced to the new world by Spanish settlers. This dance is sexy and one of the most fascinating of all the dances. The tango has many variations and styles, Argentine, French, Gaucho and International. The Tango has become one of our American Standard’s regardless of its origin. The Americanized version is a combination of the best parts of each. The principals involved are the same for any good dancing.

1. The dance must fit the music
2. It must contain the basic characteristic that sets it apart from other dances.
3. It must be comfortable and pleasing to do.

Most Tango music phrased to 16 or 32 beats of music. Tango music is like a story. It contains paragraphs, sentences and the period at the end of the sentence is the Tango close.

For exhibition dancing, a Tango dancer must develop a strong connection with the music, the dance, their partner and of course the audience. This dance is pleasurable to watch and to perform…this is the sexiest dance of all…
