Scrapbooking Layout Ideas
I first started scrapbooking about six years ago. I didn’t think it was going to be something that I would enjoy much, but so many of my friends were into scrabooking that I thought I would give it a try.
Scrapbook Headings
- Too Cute Too Spook – I used this layout with a picture of one of my children when they dressed for Halloween.
- Dino-Mite kid – Pictures of a child playing with dinosaurs or wearing dinosaur pyjamas.
- Draw a picture of a bubble gum machine and fill the machine with pictures in round circles for the gum.
- Hanging out with ( and the name of the person in the picture ) – pictures cut out in shapes of pants and tops hanging on a clothes line. You can even buy little clothes pins to stick to your pictures to look like the pictures are really hanging from a line.
- Brand New Blossom – a picture of a new born baby in a flower.
- Miles of Smiles – a picture of someone in the car smiling.
- Picture Perfect – with a picture in frames.
- Poppy’s Girl/Boy – a picture of the poppy flower and your picture in the middle.
- Welcome Aboard – a picture of a new baby with a train track going around your picture, with a train on the track.
- Baby Bikini – pictures of your little one in a bikini.
- Delight in the little things – I used this layout with my daughter laughing at her mobile.
- You don’t scare me : I have a new born, toddler, pre-teen and a teenager ! You can shorten this down to fit you but it worked for me so made for a good layout page.
- Spoiled !! I used this saying above a picture of one of my children throwing a tantrum.
- Baby Steps – you child first learning to walk.
- Adorable – this pages a good heading for any Dora fans out there.
- Too Beat To Eat – I used this layout with a picture of my son asleep in his highchair.
- Wishing you a tub full of love – add hearts instead of bubbles to the tub picture.
- On The Go – I did this layout page with a picture of my daughter in a stop sign and her picture is on the Go color.
- Unbelievably cute ! I used this for a cute picture that I found to be really cute and then put pictures of bees all over the page.
- A B C D E F G – Tell me what you think of me !
- Ghoul Time Had By All – for a Halloween picture.
- What a doll ! – You can use this picture with your daughter holding a doll.
- King of Hearts ! – I have not made this page up yet but intend to make this one up with my son in a playing card with the king of hearts on both ends.
- Boys and their Toys – I used this heading for a picture of adults playing with my son’s race track.
Layout Ideas
- If you have so many pictures from one year or even if you have duplicates of the same picture and just are not sure what to do with them, you can make up a year page, such as 2009. Cut out the numbers and then use your pictures to fill the numbers. When you are finished your page should just show the year, with pictures. This took me two pages to be able to do. For example, 20 on one page and 09 on the following page.
- For Christmas Pictures, cut your pictures into shapes of trees and then place presents under the tree.
- For the name Mary Leigh and a picture of a child sleeping – use the saying merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream.
- Make a picture of a clock and cut out the pictures of your child at 1 month, 2 months, 3 months or years to fill in the numbers.
- For the name Justin, you can use the clock idea as well, with the title Just-In Time.
- Something Wonderful Has Sprouted ( this was one of my favorite pages that I did up). Use nice summery colors for your layout page. Draw flower pots and then cut out pictures in shapes of flowers and have them in the pot. Make the leaves and stem for your flowers to make it look like a flower of your picture has sprouted. Add a cut out of a watering can to make it look like it is watering the flowers.
- Use a page that resembles water. Place a picture of your child in the tub and fill the page with bubbles. Make the letters of the child in the shape of bubbles as well to put on your page to show the name. At the bottom or side of your page, have a few ducks.
- You can buy letters that are actually a puzzle that fit together. Use this for a picture where the person looks puzzled and piece your puzzle letters together to form the word puzzled over the head. Then throw some of the random letters around your page.
- Get a cut out of a roll of film or draw the picture. From the roll should be the film coming down with pictures. Draw or cut out a camera to add the date of when the picture was taken.
- Make an Angel Baby page by using cut- outs of clouds. Place your child on the clouds and put a halo over the head and wings behind the picture.
- Make a warning sign with the saying : Warning I AM TWO : place pictures of your two year old in the page.
Always remember that almost anything can make a page. Trying to buy little items to add to your page can become quite expensive but you will find that you have items around your own house that can be used as embellishments to add to your pictures. Such as pieces of ribbon, buttons, even on gift bags you will find cute little embellishments that you can save. All around your house are things we throw away but would look nice on a page.
Hope you have found something useful you can use in your own pages. I have found that just reading other idea’s gave me my own idea’s for my own pages.
