Infinite Beauty

Infinite Beauty

The infinite value of the arts.

The value of beauty, music, art is infinite. A single song can touch one’s soul so deeply; connect two souls together more intimately than sometimes even being in the actual presence of another person. The sound in one’s voice, the ache, the joy, it reaches parts of our hearts that nothing else can reach, not in the same way.

I know sometimes when I am struggling with something or I am so overjoyed words cannot express my emotions, I turn to beauty and art and then I feel a sense of peace wash over me. Like a fantasia caress from a lover, it can open your mind and change your heart and life. There is a reason that certain songs, movies, paintings live on celebrated generation after generation. We are all inextricably connected, our beauty infinite.

I cannot imagine this world without the arts. People often wonder why actors, athletes, and famous singers are paid so much more than firefighters, teachers, police officers, etc. I believe it is because of the infinitely healing elements found within the arts.

If a child watches a movie, hears a song, or sees a painting that reflects the angst that they cannot share with anyone else, this can do volumes for our society. The more a child’s spirit is healed and nourished, the more he or she can contribute to our world, in a positive fashion. The more he or she feels important and valued the less the need to do wrong and hurt others will occur.

People who feel good about themselves and truly value life do not intentionally hurt others. I believe this with all my heart. I believe this because of what I have witnessed and through my own experiences.

Taking time to stop and appreciate an architect’s landscape or a street corner guitarist strumming out his latest ballad can also help us further appreciate the value of every individual’s unique intrinsic beauty. Why did he choose those lyrics, why did she arch those pillars at such a sharp angle? The arts allow us to share another person’s heart and soul in a way like no other, and this is truly a precious gift we have been blessed with every single day.

Dear Liane, I couldn’t agree more with you, I believe without art the world would feel soul-less and desolate, thanks I enjoyed this piece immensely, I’ll remember to book mark it to share,
