Art gives people a reason to live.

Art is a loosely defined term. As an engineering student, the things I create are art to me. Art can be anything from the metalwork done by steel fabricators to the Sistine Chapel ceiling. Art is merely what is pleasing to the person who creates it.

Art is never a waste of time for the person who creates it. Whether someone else likes it or not is another story. When I set out to create something, or to experiment with my guitar, the things I make are art to me. Even if nobody else in the world likes what I’m doing, it still belongs to me. I can love it, and I do.
