My Ten Favourite Picable Pictures

A picture is worth a thousand words, and Picable is the place to find the best pictures.

We’ve all heard the phrase “a picture is worth a thousand words”, yet very few know the story behind its origins. Unfortunately, I do not know where this phrase originated from. I wish I did, seeing as it is probably the most truthful proverb in the English language. From a simple, hand-drawn diagram, we can learn as much as, if not more than, we’d learn from a full page of text. Pictures are easy to understand and require no training or practice. When we see a picture, we see something personal. Each person will interpret the same photograph, diagram or drawing differently. With that in mind, I’d like to introduce you to my 10 favourite Picable pictures.

Number 10: Amazing Fantasy Pattern Collection

Jonsms’ “Amazing Fantasy Pattern Collection” is an interesting and vibrant visual masterpiece. This image is simple, yet incredibly beautiful. When I look at this picture, I imagine a stained glass window from a cathedral, or a kaleidoscope which has just been shaken.

Number 9: Delicate Arch

Garrett Mockler’s “Delicate Arch” is a stunning photograph of a natural arch in Arches National Park. This photograph is in no way complex, but is very striking. To some people, myself included, this arch could represent a doorway to another world.

Number 8: Butterfly

hellomyfriend’s “Butterfly” is an attractive and charming photograph of a butterfly preparing to take flight. It is a true testament to the beauty of nature.

Number 7: Two Little Daffodils

Lene16’s “Two Little Daffodils” is a striking and visually pleasing photograph of two daffodils. This photograph reminds me of my schooldays, collecting money every year on Daffodil Day.

Number 6: Earning on Triond

Rinchen Tsering’s “Earning on Triond” would appear to many people to be nothing more than a screenshot of their Triond content page. To me, and probably many other Triond users, though, it is an indication of the pride that we feel when our work gets viewed by others.

Number 5: Goku Super Saiyan 3

masteraliak47’s “Goku Super Saiyan 3″ is a photograph of his brother’s drawing of Goku, from Dragonball Z. This image has particular importance to me, as it reminds me of the enjoyment I, and millions of other people, have gotten from this priceless cartoon show over the years.

Number 4: Triond 2nd Payment

Aida0205’s “Triond 2nd Payment” is in many ways similar to Rinchen Tsering’s “Earning on Triond”. $0.90 would not seem like a lot of money to most people, but Aida0205’s “Triond 2nd Payment” is yet another illustration of the satisfaction that Triond writers feel when they are earning work from their writing and creativity.

Number 3: Do It 2Day

blackapple’s “Do It 2Day” might seem to many people to be an encouragement to do immoral activities while we have the chance, but to me it encourages me to live my life to the fullest, to take every opportunity I get to do everything that I can while I still have the chance to.

Number 2: Scenic London Six

Gemma Rowland’s “Scenic London Six”, a photograph of the London Eye, might look like an ordinary tourist’s photograph, but to me it represents something more. In many ways, the London Eye is like the Earth. It is a massive entity, yet the people on it are on the outside, only beginning to scratch the surface.

Number 1: Fridge in Living Room

tmpryid’s “Fridge in Living Room” is quite an interesting piece. It appears to be a simple comic, someone trying to express their humorous thought. To me though, it epitomises the creativity of Triond’s users. For that reason, it is my favourite Picable picture.
