The Most Amazing Lego Sculptures Ever
Nathan Sawaya is one of the most well known master lego builders today.
At some point in life we have all had a fascination with building things out of blocks. My kids can sit and build things for hours and not realize any time has gone by. I’ve seen some pretty amazing sculptures made from legos but I’d have to say Nathan Sawaya takes the cake on the this one. He makes a living building things out of lego blocks.
Born in Colville, Washington Sawaya got his start in 2004 when he won a contest for Lego Master Model Builder. He worked for the Lego company about six months and then decided to give it a go on his own. He is officially recognized by Lego as a professional builder.

His first art show came in 2007 at the Lancaster Museum of Art called ‘The Art of the Brick.’ It is the only US exhibition to use Legos as the art medium.
Sawaya has also been featured on such shows as The Colbert Report, David Letterman, CNN, and Mythbusters. He has also been in Newsweek, Newsday and the Los Angeles Times.

One of his most recent pieces is called ‘Underneath’ While it may be disturbing to some, this happens to be one of my favorites.

One of his more commonly seen sculptures ‘Yellow’

Another one of my favorites. An amazing piece ‘Reflection’.

‘Rushmore’
Currently Nathan Sawaya is on tour in North America with his ‘The Art of the Brick’ show.

That is so amazing. You have to wonder how long he had to work with legos to acomplish this.
