From Trash, to Treasure: Reviewing The Artwork of J. a. Harris

A commentary on Joshua Allen Harris and his inflatable art.

Today I came across a very interesting youtube video it is about an artist by the name of Joshua Allen Harris. His work is very unique, what he does is street art, more specifically sculptures. But these are not ordinary sculptures they are inflatable sculptures and to see one they would remind you of those old cartoons. They look very lively and really awesome.

You can see his work here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PH6xCT2aTSo

Normally I am very interested in mainstream art, Joshua’s work was just too cool to pass up so I had to do a review of it. If you want to see the video that I recently came across, go to youtube and check it out. The coolest part about the sculptures is that they are made of what most people would think of as trash. He said in the video that he uses shopping bags and trash bags to create his work. To me that is real ingenuity. I kind of wish that I might have thought of it first.

Josh if you happen to be reading this then I have to say keep up the awesome work and I wish you success in everything you do. Both now and in the future, your work kind of reminds me of the carnival where the little balloon animals are made by carnival workers. I guess my question is have you ever thought of opening your own studio to showcase your work?

What is the biggest draw to you that art has? In other words, what made you want to get involved with it?
