How to Observe Artwork
Next time your at a museum, follow these three tips to make you understand the artwork you see.
Picture this: Your at a museum and your looking at the beautiful artwork. Your not sure what they mean, so you just keep walking around unaware of the magnificence around you. WRONG!!! Follow these 3 quick steps to actually see the ravishing things around you.
Look for:
The Medium:
All works of art have mediums. Mediums are the substance in which the work was created. Several mediums include watercolor, stone, class, ink, pencil, and pastel. Mediums make up a peice of artwork.
The Mood and Tone:
The impact the artwork has on people is very important. How the artist feels while making the piece of art, or how it is expressed makes the art unique.
The Artist’s Purpose:
All artists have different objectives while making their “future masterpiece”. One artist may intend to make the picture realistic and modern-day, another might choose to make a sculpture.
After reading these tips, I’m sure you want to go to your local museum and check out the artwork! Have fun!
