Natural Form

Information on Peter Randall-Page and Henry Moore, well known artists.

Peter Randall-Page

Peter Randall-Page was born in the United Kingdom in the year 1954. He studied sculpture in an art academy for five years until the year 1977 inclusive. Over the last twenty five years he has worked professionally as a sculptor for a living, with his work being based around the natural form of objects, and the impact it has upon the mind and emotions. His work has ranged from gargantuan granite sculptures like “seed” at the Eden project, to ones that you could comfortable hold in your hands. As you can see from the given examples, his work is unusual and highly skilled.

Henry Moore

Henry Moore was born in the year of 1898, and lived to the ripe old age of eighty eight before passing away in 1986. He was a largely influential public sculptor, who based his artwork on his studies of classical, pre-Columbian and African art, whilst focusing the topic of his work on organic or natural shapes and forms, rather like Peter Randall-Page. According to him “every shape, every bit of natural form, animals, people, pebbles, shells, anything you like are all things that can help you to make a sculpture.” This can be seen in much of his artwork, including that to the right.
