Two New Banksy Graffiti Artworks Appear in London
Banksy does not appear to have been very active on the streets recently, so there was anticipation and excitement on the net when two new works were spotted last night.
When I got up this morning and turned on my laptop, amongst the messages in the inbox was one from the Banksy Forum advising me to go to the provided link I did.
The forum was buzzing. Apparently two new graffiti works by Banksy had appeared in London.
Members had abandoned their computers and shot off to capture them on film and get back to the forum to upload them for all to view.
There was a lot of anticipation and speculation in the meanwhile. Why were they taking so long to take the pictures and get back to the forum with them?
“Zippy”, one of the guys that had spotted one of them and had gone to capture it, was declared to be taking so long because, a friend declared, that he had a bad leg and was a nervous driver.
When the pictures arrived would they actually be by Banksy?
Finally the anticipation was over and the pictures arrived on the forum.
They were met with as much praise for the guys who uploaded the pictures, as praise for the artist.
General consensus of opinion was that they are definitely the real deal.

This picture was taken off Gillette Square, London, N16. Note the way the artist has used the air vent in the wall. The bear and the way in which the boy is holding it is typical of Banksy’s style.

Measuring approx six feet high, this is at the side of the A1 road, just before the motorway.

It looks like his work. I really like the first child, carrying the boom box, trying to look rough and tough. Yet in his other hand he carries a teddy bear as if it’s a testament to his innocence and childhood. I love your Bansky article!

I do not agree with defacing private property, but Bansky and other street artist are actually very talented. I just wish that they could present the beautiful art and messages without breaking laws.

His works are so obscure, and at times confusing. I am trying to see the greater picture.

I must say, I would probably be a fan of the graffiti here, if it all looked as good as the ones in this article. Thanks for bringing this out!

Wow Chris, this is eh… Thriller Art! Exciting stuff! The guy with the ghetto-blaster looks so real… and the “last graffiti” is funny!

This art seems to expand on the meaning of graffiti. Most graffiti around here lacks the quality show by these two pieces. Thanks for sharing with us on the other side of the pond.
