Willard Wigan: Creator of the World’s Smallest Sculptures
Be amazed by how one artist changed the trend of making big art, to making microscopic art.
Willard Wigan is the creator of the world’s smallest sculptures and is known as a micro-sculptor. His creations often take him months to complete. Wigan uses rice or grains of sand and a surgical blade to create his micro-sculptures. He often uses the hair from flies as a paintbrush to decorate them. Once finished, his sculptures measure as small as 0.005mm (0.0002 in) tall.

Cool article. This artist has real talent that would make just about anyone else go cross-sided, just trying to admire his work.

Oooh is this the guy who has an exhibition in Bath? If it is then I’ve seen (through a microscope) some of his work and it’s just incredible. I have no idea how he does it.

neither the first nor the smallest sculptures or engravings, just google chinese rice grain sculptures. I’m not saying these works are not great, just saying that the title of this article makes a false statement.
