Mtg: Top 10 Alara Reborn Cards
Alara Reborn has been a very anticipated set. These are the 10 most useful cards within it…
Alara Reborn is the first set of Magic the Gathering cards to be completely multicolored. Using a very strong “teamworking” mechanic many of these cards are going to bee seen in play for a very long time. Here are, in my opinion, the top 10 cards in the set…
Honorable Mention: Terminate. yea yea, we’ve all seen that before… A great card yes, but lacks originality…
Here is the top 10 new ones:
#10 Mayael’s Aria – Rare

Please correct me if I am wrong, but does this card cost three mana and have a “Win the game if you control a creature with 20 or more power” condition? There are so many ways to just “Win the game” with this card. Mossbridge Troll? Giant Growth? Souls Might? #3 on this list? wow. This card almost takes the fun out of the game. I think it should be banned in Multi-player games. Again, please correct me if I am wrong. (I hope I am)
#9 Mind Funeral – Uncommon

In league with brain freeze, this card is a great miller that packs a lot of punch for its small mana cost. With all those fancy searching opponents library cards available now, this card can prove very lethal, especially if added to a Dimir-esque deck.
#8
Lorescale Coatl – Uncommon

This one is pretty simple. Every turn he gets bigger! Throw Jace into the mix to really get the party started. Being used in a blue/green element, there is a large chance this guy will be unblockable before you can say “Protective Bubble”.
#7
Nemesis of Reason – Rare

Say WHAT? I know I will be using these as soon as I can get my hands on some! It’s ability is so simple, you have to read it again to make sure there is no catch. 10 off the top each turn will turn onto a BIG problem Very quickly. this might b my personal favorite from the set.
#6
Quasali Pridemage – Common

Arguably the best common in the set, this guy is very well rounded. His Exalted ability is what makes him stand out amongst others of the sort. a great early game card
#5
Lord of Extinction – Mythic Rare

The first mythic rare guy to make the list, this guy has the potential to be HUGE. In a multiplayer setting, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him upto a 20/20 in no time. The picture reminds me a little of Leviathan (from the dark)
#4
Sen Triplets – Mythic Rare

For such a cool control ability, I wish they would have made the card a little cooler. Essentially, this card inhibits your opponents from doing anything in response to your actions on your turn. Oh and go ahead and play their hand while your at it. This card would be awesome in a spectrum deck.
#3
Jenara, Asura of War – Mythic Rare

A simple, very powerful ability that makes this card uber-dangerous in no time! the 3 color thing can be kind of annoying for those people who like their mono-white angels, but nonetheless, this card cannot be overlooked as one of the best cards of its time.
#2
Meddling Mage – Rare

Not one of my personal favorites, this card none the less is one of the most obnoxious ones out there. An early-gamer capable of preventing your opponent from doing much of anything, this card nicely combines white and blue.
#1
Maelstrom Pulse – Rare

This card is number one, only because it can destroy every other card on this list. For 3 mana (wow!) this card effectively removes your problems from the playing field. I remember when Dark Banishing was a decent card! I’m sure that Maelstrom Pulse will be seen in games years from now. It is one of the most powerful cards of the time compared to mana cost and can be used in virtually any situation. A solid #1!

Any other favorites that didn’t make the list?

I guess we have a differance of opinion. I have to respect yours so I’d expect you to respect or disregard mine. All i ask is that if you disagree because the text book told you so, to keep your negative comments at an apropreate level. I love criticizm if it is constructive. In casual play I think these are the stongest. I won’t deny that the cards you pointed out are standouts as well.
And as a matter of fact I do write to make myself feel good. and to share my opinions with the large group of people whom I casualy and competivly play the game with. and i will take full blame for someone claiming that a 10 card mill a turn is a powerful ability.

So you’re pandering to scrubs who think that cards like Mayael’s Aria are good?
If you aren’t qualified to write, why write? To make yourself feel good?
This list is misinformation. I just know some scrubs are going to be looking at this list and then telling their friends how Nemesis of Reason made a top 10 list and is therefore good. And you’re the one responsible for it.
