MTG: Top 10 Cats
Taking a look at the best cat cards ever printed in Magic The Gathering.
The wonderful world of hair balls. Cat cards seem to fit into any deck and always have very different abilities from each other. Taking this into consideration, and because I love cats, here comes the Top 10 Cat cards of all time (as of March 2009).
#10 Hunting Cheetah

A cool card from Portal Three Kingdoms, Hunting Cheetah is a good way to more land early on in the game. Although it isn’t a sure thing, this card is definetly worth it. If you ever happen to find one, hold onto it!
#9 Entrails Feaster

This card is a great way to start of the game. It can either act as a decoy or turn into your leading attacker/blocker. This card is a little dependent on putting cards in your graveyard or an opponent’s. It works well in a control or discard deck. Try it out! You won’t be disappointed.
#8 Phantom Nishoba

A 7/7 lifelinking trampler is cool. This card is also particularly hard because like all the phantoms from Odyssey it does not receive damage, it only becomes slightly weaker.
#7 Pride Of The Clouds

This card has a lot of potential to get huge. Forecasting it is decent, but I can see building a deck with only flying creatures simply for this card. It only costs two mana! This card is quite powerful.
#6 Mirri The Cursed

There’s nothing quite so ridiculous sounding as “Vampire Cat”, but seriously, this card is good! For only four mana this card is a great play. This card has four different abilities and each of them are useful. There aren’t really any downsides to this card other than it is hard for Mirri The Cursed to deal combat damage to a creature since your opponent doesn’t always have flying creatures to block with. However, you could always use this card defensively, but I almost never do.
#5 Jareth, Leonine Titan

A great blocker, though capable of doing some serious offense too. This guy can easily become unblockable by giving him various protections. Plus, look at that illustration. Badass.
#4 Leonin Abunas

A good card for those games against control decks. Artifact decks are already strong enough, but this cat makes them even more powerful. Another random cat with a cool effect though.
#3 Noble Panther

A 3/3 first striker for three mana is awesome. Although this card doesn’t have first strike all the time, it isn’t exactly difficult to give it to it. This card has no drawbacks. Any deck that can have this card in it should have this card in it.
#2 Spirit Of The Hearth

A strong creature. However, this card’s effect is so good that you’ll soon forget its power and toughness. This card makes direct damage decks useless. This card is a great side board and I would even go as far to say as it should be in any white deck. There isn’t much reason not to include it.
#1 Blistering Firecat

Morph this guy and then send out the beast! Four of these in a deck would be insane! Since you can morph it, if you’re in a situation where you need blockers, this card doesn’t just die at the end of the turn. This card is the king of quick damage. Ball Lightning can suck it. Me-Ow!
Thanks for reading! Don’t forget to empty the litter-box!
