MTG: Top 10 Spectrum Cards
Taking a look at the best spectrum cards ever printed!
“Spectrum” cards are card that are of every color. Specturm is a term that is used by many MTG players to describe those five colored cards. Now, it’s time to take a look at the best of the spectrum cards! There were only seventeen ever printed (excluding the card 1996 World Champion), and for good reason! These cards are all super powerful. Reaper King was a close choice for number ten (fyi), but sadly, it didn’t make it.

#10 Fusion Elemental

When I drafted Conflux, I passed two of these cards thinking that no one would be playing them. I then received a relentless assault by two of these in my first game. I lost and it sucked. This card, on the other hand, does not suck. It’s a strong card for only five mana. It’s easy to play too because of cards like Smokebraider. It’s powerful and playable.
#9 Scion Of The Ur-Dragon

It’s great to be able to pull out any dragon from your library and use it for only two mana! Of course, you still have to cast this card, but after that you get an awesome copy for a turn! Not only that, the dragon card you copy goes into your graveyard. This means it can easily be brought into play. This card is a beast and shouldn’t be taken lightly!
#8 Horde Of Notions

This card is pretty cool. It’s the bomb in an elemental deck. If you can play it, then you can also resurrect any elemental as well. This creates an undying force for you to swarm your opponent with. It’s a pretty big card itself too!
#7 Child Of Alara

This card is a lot of fun. You basically get to keep assigning damage to your opponent each turn because they probably won’t destroy this card. They’ll block with the biggest creature they’ve got, but won’t destroy it. This card is either constant damage or a quick way to clear the board. If you want to clear the board on your own, just lay this down and use Terminate. It’s a pricy board wipe, but it’s also very effective with turning the battle. You can swing for big damage each turn, or leave this card untapped and ready to block and die, thus wiping the board.
#6 Sliver Queen

Most likely the best sliver of all time, this card can birth a sliver token for only two mana. This means you get a sliver with all the bonuses of your other slivers. Of course, a card like this is worthless outside a sliver deck and the tokens are worthless without any other slivers in play. However, if you play this card, chances are it will be the one to secure your victory. It won’t be a card you scramble to play to save yourself. This is a game ender.
#5 Genju Of The Realm

The only legendary enchant land ever, this card is amazing! Once you play it, this card is going to make the game explode! You get an 8/12 creature with trample! Not only that, but if that creature happens to die, you get this card back! Furthermore, the activation cost is only two mana! This card makes a monster, and is one of the few cards from the Kamigawa block that can work outside of the set!
#4 Maelstrom Nexus

This card is really cool, because it gives you free spells! Nothing wrong with that! I reccomend using something like Lost Auramancers to get this card in play without much trouble.
#3 Coalition Victory

It’s always fun to be in a ridiculous situation and then win with this card. I like using Prismatic Omen and then any card that’s all colors. Perhaps Transguild Courier as the creature? That’s an affordable way to get the land and creatures in play, then you just play this card with your land and a Dark Ritual or other mana accelerator. Using those instant win cards gives such a feeling of satisfaction.
#2 Progenitus

This is a card for Elvish Piper and those like it. If you hard cast this card you should just win. Anyway, this card is ten damage a turn. That’s about it. You can’t really say much else. I guess it comes back (eventually) if it dies.
#1 Maelstrom Archangel

This card is number one for an obvious reason. With this one card you can play every other card on the list. This card is strong and has an amazing ability (one of the best mythic rares so far!). This is another card for Elvish Piper, because once it’s out, you’ll soon have a lot of good cards in play. Hello Progenitus.
Thanks for reading!

Wow, this is a good list. I would have liked to have seen Last Stand and Cromat on there, but I don’t know if I could make a good argument for knocking out one of the other cards. Except maybe Coalition Victory. I don’t know; I just think a card that says “you win the game” isn’t as exciting as a card like Last Stand would be, even in a ridiculous match, but this isn’t a “most exciting” article, it’s a “best cards” article, and so “you win the game” takes this one I think.
