If you think you know Texas hold em poker think again. On facebook it is a totally different game and your strategy should change dramatically. The environment of the internet gives us confidence, too much of this confidence causes us to lose control and fail at the game on facebook.

Ranked number 6 in facebook applications as at September 1 2009, Texas Hold Em Poker is serious fun. Even though there is only an optional inflow into the game, (you can buy credits but you don’t get anything in return). Its taken Poker to the next level.

I’m assuming you know how to play Texas Holm Em already. So here are some things to keep in mind when playing it on facebook.

How to choose a table.

There are many casinos and within them many tables. It doesn’t really matter which casino you choose, if there is no one at your casino then just make a change, although i have never experienced a deserted casino in this game. Choose a table depending on your current poker chip count. Don’t be scared to play 80% of your chips in one go if you are a risk taker and if you like playing small choose a table at around at least 10 – 20% of your chip total (if you are still low) or else you will be getting no where.

Calling.

When you call you have to consider carefully, in real life there is no buzzer telling you to hurry up, nor are you anonymous. This influences you to act quickly but what you should be doing is making wise decisions. If your two cards are for example, K spade & 6 Diamond, it doesn’t look very good. My suggestion would be to fold unless you have already got  the call amount on the table, then check it. Never waste a opportunity you have already paid for.

Stand up sit down & tips

When you sit down on a table you have to pay the buy in. So standing up and sitting down after each win could cost you alot. So when you buy in, in the first place there are two benefits to having a high amount, you save on the buy in, and get more on the table, so if you lose some, you won’t need to spend the buy in as often, and when you only have a few hundred chips left and you call it, in the next few cards, you don’t contribute anything, you miss out on all the money and it is distributed to the 2nd person, 3rd person etc, before you get your share, which can mean as low as 10%.

Free Chips

Free chips are available from friends, so its a good idea to get alot of them, some nice friends will send you the chip gifts daily! The daily chance / lottery  is another fast way to get free chips. A low amount would be below $1000 and it gets up to 1million. Log in every day for a week and you’ll get at the very least, $5000.
