About the Starter Set

Assault on Black Reach is the latest Warhammer 40k starter set out. It contains 17 Space Marines and 29 Ork’s. It also contains a short version of the Warhammer 40k 5th edition rule book that contains all the rules you need to know and a guide to Assault on Black Reach which contains information like how to assemble and paint your models.

The Space Marines

After you have opened the box and assembled all of you models you will realise that there are a lot more Ork’s than Space Marines. This doesn’t really matter because Space Marines are better than Ork’s and are worth more points than them.

You get:

• 1 Space Marine Captain
• 5 Space Marine Terminators
• 10 Tactical Space Marines
• 1 Dreadnought

The Space Marine Captain was made just for the starter set and the only way to get this model is to buy the starter set. He has a power sword and a bolter. All of the Terminators come with a storm bolter and a power fist. The Terminators are just normal Space Marines but they wear better armour and have better weapons. The Tactical Space Marines came with bolters expect one comes with a missile launcher and one comes with a flamer. The sergeant comes with a chain-sword and a

Bolt-pistol. Now the Dreadnought is an elite now in the new Space Marine Codex with means it is better than other models. The Dreadnought that comes with the starter set is different to normal Dreadnoughts because they had to fit it in the box. The only difference is that the one in the starter set has a smaller power plant and more detailed legs. It comes with a multi-melter and a close-combat arm with a storm bolter.

The Orks

Anyone who likes things that are green and have guns and axes will love the Orks. These green-skinned monsters and excellent in close-combat and will rip apart the opposition. They are green, mean fighting machines.

You get

• 1 Ork Warboss
• 5 Ork Nobz
• 20 Ork Boyz
• 3 Deffkoptas

The Ork Warboss is the leader of the Orks. His weapons are a Power Klaw and a Shoota. Now since the Orks are really good in close-combat you will want to get your Warboss in it as fast as you can because he gets four attacks. The Ork Nobz are like the Space Marine Terminators. Their weapons include a Choppa which is an axe and a Slugga which is a gun. Ork Boyz are like weaker forms of the Ork Nobz. All models have a Choppa and a Slugger and 2 models have a big shoota which is a long, big gun.

Probably the coolest models of the Ork army are the Deffkoptas. They have spikes on their blades and big rocket launchers at the front. The pilots have a choopa and they control the twin-linked rokkit launcha.

Summary

I hope that this has given you some idea of what you get in Assault on Black Reach. In conclusion I give the Assault on Black Reach starter set 4.5 stars out of 5 because it contains a Dreadnought and three Ork Deffkoptas and the models are fantastic.
