How to Solve a Rubik’s Cube
An easy to follow guide with a lot of pictures, It is advised that you have a pen/pencil and paper to copy the chart of notations at the top of the guide, as they will be used throughout the guide. The pictures show nets of the cube. The bottom 3×3 square should always be facing you as show in the guide.

Note: The guide belowshows the notation that will be used in this guide
1. First, you want to make a cross. (This part is mostly intuitive, just play around with the cube for a while and you’ll get used to it.)

2. Next, solve the corners.

3. Now, flip the cube so your solved side is facing down.
4. Now you will solve the edges of the “middle Layer”. (Use Ui, Li, Ui, L, U, F, U, Fi for situation 1. Use U, R, U, Ri, Ui, Fi, Ui, F for situation 2.)

5. Now, you need to make a cross on the “top layer” (The edges do not need to be lined up with the center pieces in the middle layer.) Use F,U,R,Ui,RI,Fi Make sure you hold the cube as shown so that the top layer (orange) is oriented the same way.

6. Line the edges up. (You need 2 edges correctly lined up with the center pieces. If you don’t have them use R, U, Ri, U, R, U, U, Ri.) With your 2 edges already correctly oriented, use R, U, Ri, U, R, Ui, Ri, U, R U, U, Ri, Ui. Make sure you hold the cube as shown in the diagram. In this case, the blue side should face you.

7. Line the corners up. Keep the correctly placed corner, if there is one, in the upper right to keep it in place. Use U, R, Ui, Li, U, Ri, Ui, L (you may have like in the example below.)

8. Finally, flip the corners if needed by using Ri Di R D repeatedly (2 or 4 times per corner)when a corner which is incorrectly oriented is in the upper right corner. (Ignore the fact that the cube is becoming seemingly unsolved. After orienting every corner, it will always end up solved) Once you have done that, and correctly oriented one corner, rotate the upper face by using U to get to another unsolved corner.
