Solving a Sudoku Puzzle
Learn how to play sudoku purely by logic.
Sudoku puzzles are set up in a 9 x 9 square grid divided into nine 3 x 3 boxes. The aim of the game is to fill in every row, column, and 3 x 3 box with the numbers 1 through 9 only once.
- Start by looking at the row, column, or 3 x 3 box with the most already filled in numbers
- Look at the numbers that are already filled in on your row, column, or 3 x 3 box
- Whatever numbers do not appear already need to be filled in
- Before placing a number in a small square, first glance at the row, column, and 3 x 3 box the square is located in. If the number is already there located in one of these areas, do not place the number here
Tips
- You do not need to guess! Sudoku involves logic, not luck.
- If you get stuck, move on to a different area of the puzzle.
