The Game

The Game

The rules of The Game.

The Game is a game that was created for reasons unknown, but its so much fun. The whole idea is to NOT think about The Game. It’s played worldwide. I’m from Ontario, Canada, and my entire school plays (800 students), as does my brother’s school (400) and my sister’s school (1400). I’m from a fairly small town of about 70,000 residents, so those are pretty big numbers in comparison to the size of the entire place. I also know a few people from a couple other provinces that play, like British Columbia, and my sister’s friend from Newfoundland. But that’s enough about all that.

What I really want to talk about here is the rules of The Game. Alright, the rules are:

1. You are playing the Game.

2. Whenever you think about the Game, you lose.

3. Loss MUST be announced.

Pretty much what this means is that from now on you are a player of the Game. Anytime you remember that you are playing the Game, you MUST say out loud “I just lost the Game.” or something similar, such as “The Game.” (This has also been shortened to “I-J-L-T-G”, and acronym for “I Just Lost The Game.”). This is so that anyone around you playing the Game also loses. The whole point is to forget you are playing the Game, thus winning the Game. There is also a secondary objective: To get the entire planet playing the Game.
