Cheating in Games

Should you cheat in video games or not.

As a game addict I used to cheat a lot, especially if I really sucked at the game. I mean you just enter in a cheat code an there. You win. But what is the point? In the end you don’t even feel as if you played a game, it takes no skill. It simply takes away the fun of the game. Its boring after a while when you can just destroy everything without taking any damage, or something like that.

And second of all, you bought the game. So that is really wasting money. Next day you are just going to go buy another game, and cheat in it again. And after a while you end up with crazy amounts of games, andyou will never understandthe joy that you could get out of them if you just played fair. My friend has like 3 shelves full of games, andhe doesn’t understand the story behind 90% of them.

I even tried cheating a little, just to boost myself enough to have a chance to win. But that doesn’t work, because one cheat lead to another, and eventually I just beat the game.

Whats even worse then cheating is hacking. Especially on online games where other people play every day and they get really good at it sometimes they are even the best. But then someone comes hacks the game, gets something that is impossible to get, and the hard working player gets owned instantly. For example in Mario Kart Wii, there are record of times on the Internet where people have like 45 seconds as their record for time in 3 laps, which is impossible unless you hacked the game, Or when you are racing against someone from the Internet (also in MK for wii) you do the 3 laps as fast as you can and in the end it tells you that you came in 2nd,when you saw that your place was 1st before you went through the finish line. Then it subtracts like 100 points from your account. And the guy above you, who supposedly won has like 9800 points, and this keeps repeating for all the races.

So I started playing fair, I do admit that it is a lot harder, but it is more fun. And if I see a hacker, I simply pull the plug end of story, I ain’t gonna be cheated out of my points
