Ok to begin with you have to know that the judges if they see something that is too advanced for their grade level will probably think the parents did it. So to start off do something that fits your grade level. Lets start with elementary school. Judges on this point don’t really care about the topic as long as it looks like tons of work was put into it. So a recommendation would be something basic. Such as toy rockets marbles catapults etc. Make on of those and add allot of little details like essays and overviews and charts. This way the judges know you did allot of research and allot of work.

Next up on the list is middle school. Now at this time in most kids lives you have to worry about the subject allot more. A good project would be projectile trajectory and velocity. Remember to add in even more details and backgrounds and graphs, and most importantly make it eye catching. Put a big title on the top of it in a flashy way so the judges notice and look deeper into it. Once their into it make sure they have some basic straightforward information with allot of backup details to back up your project. Once this is completed you should net at least 3rd place in the competition.

Now onto high school, this is by far a much more difficult time. Kids or teenagers at this age start to mature and really work on things. So you’ll have to have a subject that seems more advanced then the others. One example is the process of hydrogen electrolysis. Or the proccess of converting water into hydrogen and oxygen. Add a bunch of charts and pictures and have the model you used in the prject aswell. Now when you place a model try to have instructions on how somebody can get it to work. If you just have a prop sitting there it isn’t as exciting and people wont want to figure out how it works and therefore put a lower score onto it. Once you compile all these steps together and depending on the size of the school you should net in the top 5.
