What books do kids read? Eragon and eldests, along with the harry potter chronicles are by far the most popular of the young adult novels that young people today read. Not Moby Dick or  Treasure Island or any of those classics, just stories of magic and dragons, fantasies. These are  stories that were told hundreds of years ago by peasants in shacks. Now people who live in  large houses with everything they ever wanted dream of being in a world with no luxuries like  TV or a computer, just magic and dragons and swords.Instead of reading books about the future and what the possibilities of tomorrow can be, people are still dwelling in the past and the never.
