How to Burn The Midnight Oil
The exam is very near and you have so many things to study and cover, yet the clock is already ticking to one end. It’s time for an all nighter, let’s burn the midnight oil together!
1. Be prepare – It’s already last minute, so don’t hesitate any moments anymore. Don’t wait till midnight to start your ultimate all nighter. Set your mind from the hour that you open your eyes that you’re going to revise for your exam and grab every second left because the time is more expensive now than before. You should start doing preparation even before the stay up period. Study throughout the day and push your limit towards the hours of darkness. Buy enough coffee or red bulls to stay alert right through the night, get snacks and contact few friends to be awake with you so you have few people to discuss things with. But, if you think that you can be more efficient studying alone, be by yourself and avoid company that can distract you.

2. Wear the day outfit – The environment plays a big role here, so pretend that the night is still early though it’s almost the next morning. Wear the casual clothes that you used to wear to campus. Avoid wearing pajamas even if you are studying in your own room, and don’t ever dare to study on the bed unless you don’t have chair and study table. Even though you do not have a proper study table, you can use your bed as your study platform and sit on the floor instead. The comfort of the bed make you fall asleep easily while you are actually not that sleepy to doze off.
3. Choose your study material – Realistically, it’s almost impossible to cover all and everything in the very last minute. So, be smart in choosing which materials to be studied first. Focus on the objectives of courses or subjects because knowing these will help you find which important and which not. Opt for summarized notes from lecturer and friends rather than paging books from cover to cover. Try doing past year’s exam papers and sample questions and don’t stop once you stuck anywhere, seek help or proceed with other materials first.
4. Be ready – Stop revising and relax your mind for about an hour before going to the exam hall but don’t nap, you might miss your exam. Have your meal before sitting for the paper to make sure that your brain can process all that you have learnt. Then, you are good to go. Good Luck!
