Surprising how true we’re blind to the con.

University: A Huge Con in Disguise:

In the grandest of schemes to be present in modern day society, university strikes me as something less required and something more of an idea of requirement—though I know people will either agree with whole hearted enjoyment or scold me for complaining about it, but I’m entitled to my opinion of the state of things going on our little world of education.

Education should be a given and not something to be paid out the nose for, once we reach that crossing of maturity, that divide between the then and when, the strange sidewalk of life that stretches out into a false sense of hope at what you’ll accomplish once you’re holding a bit of paper declaring your ability within that area—that area you’ve studied your off for the last three or four years with a huge wad of cash zapped away. Imagine, you’ve worked for three years and for what? A bit of paper declaring: “You’ve done it” and “Great job on obtaining me, the world’s most expensive certificate of your life”, such a shame it doesn’t do much then improve your chances of getting a job that requires nothing of what you’ve learnt in three years.

I feel cruel to berate this subject, but it seems amusing to think how a lot of people think everything under the sun needs a bit of paper to prove something—I can think of stuff that needs to be done along the lines of Architect, Medicine, Science, Law, Animation and game design. A few examples that go against the point of this article but my point stands, if education is entitled to all who want it, then why the hell are we forced to fork out three grand a year for it? It does strike me as “here, have an education that you can chose to have”, and more “You’re fucked if you don’t have a piece of paper! So fork us the cash or else.” I consider the latter as my view of what university is about.

Life is one huge lesson: teaching us something new each day without a moment’s notice. University is simply a distraction.

Thought of the Day: September 28th:

Wonderfully amusing things can crop up in life and in all those small oddities of amusement I’m simply reminded of the complication to inhabit this world of ours.
