With this little trick you can work out hard sums very quickly, but it has to be in the a certain range and use certain values.

This trick works with a minium of a 2 digit number multiple by its self. The only thing, that must stay the same is the second digit. The second digit is cruical and it must end in 5.

Example:

15 * 15

Shall we just say if one of your friends etc asked you to work 25 * 25

Now if you are good with maths you can work this out in your head quite quick.

Example:

10 * 25 = 250 

10 * 25 = 250

5 * 25 = 125

250 + 250 + 125 = 625 

There is no problem doing it this way or other ways, but my system would beat you every time in getting the result.

Lets take the same question again with my system, so you can see how quick you can get the answer.

25 * 25 ?

The way the system works is the end 2 digits for the result will always end in 25.

This means we are taking the last digit of each number and multiple them by them selfs.

5 * 5  = 25

Now we know this will always be the result for the end 2 digits, we can move on to just working the rest of the result.

First Number

25 strip the 5 left with 2

Second Number

25 strip the 5 left with 2

As we can see we are left 2 from the first number and 2 from the second number.

What we have to do now is add one to the second number to make it 3, but make sure it is the last digit with the 5 stripped as above.

Now we multiple the first number by the second number.

2 * 3 = 6

If we take our result from earier, which I said will always be 25 and add the 2 digits to the end of the above result, we get the below.

625

As you can see this is correct and very easy and quick to work.

Following what we done above try another number.

Example:

115 * 115

11*12 = 132

13225

Again how quick is that a good party trick etc.

Example

2135 * 2135

213 * 214 = 45582

4558225

Very hard one

Right I have tested this with big numbers, which were to much for me to do in my head, but you never know someone out there could be very clever.

2251455 * 2251455 = 5069049617025

225145 * 225146 =     50690496170

5 * 5 = 25

5069049617025
