How to Make a Water Rocket!

How to make a water rocket with a lemonade bottle.

How to make your own water rocket?

You need:

  • An empty lemonade bottle, 1/3 filled with water
  • A cork
  • A bicycle pump and valve of bicycle tire
  • A holder for the bottle

Fill 1/3 part of the bottle with water. Put the valve into the cork (drill a hole in the cork if it’s too hard). Put the cork onto the bottle. Put the bottle in the holder with the bottom to the air. Connect the pump to the valve and start pumping. If the cork pops out the bottle will reach a height of approx 20 meters.

Warning: Don’t put the cork to tight, otherwise the bottle will explode!

hbdbc,
Put the valve into the cork and put the cork onto the bottle, that is it!

Fred,
A valve is the thing where you can pump air in the tires, according my dictionary, in Dutch called: ventiel

where can i find a bicycle valve?? can i buy it on its own or do i have to buy a bicycle tyre?

Hi science_guest.

In Holland you can buy valves in the bicycle shop or at Halfords. You don’t have to buy an entire tire. Maybe internet will help.

Kopen = to buy. At “kies uw taal”, you can choose language ;)

I’m glad you like my story so much.
