Mobile Phones in School
Mobiles should not be allowed in schools.
For many years this topic has been raised constantly, whether by students themselves or just by teachers annoyed by the fact they’re not getting listened to. So, should mobile phones really be allowed?
In my opinion: No.
What kind of parent would allow their child to wander to school with the latest model, knowing that all the child’s going to do is fiddle with it lessons?
For this reason I actually agree with the teachers.
To start off with, most of the people children will text will be their friends, who go to the same school. So why would the children want to waste money sending a text: “Hey meet you outside English yeah?” when they could just simply open their mouth and say it aloud? Then they wonder why parents won’t give them more than £15 to top up with.
It’s not like using their mobiles is going to help them in lessons, because in case they haven’t noticed, what they do in lessons leads to exams, which they aren’t allowed to take phones into.
Students rebel against the thought of leaving their phones at home, yet really it is for their benefit. Teachers would much rather see the child leave school celebrating after achieving their grade, rather than watching them sulk off texting their mates about how they did so rubbish.
Most complain about family emergencies. If it were a family emergency they wouldn’t even be at school! There are school phones that will easily help in this aspect, which they can use at breaks, to not ruin their education.
So, tomorrow, are you going to let your kid take their phone to school, or are you going to make sure they keep it at home and know their going to get brighter?

no we should take them in because what if we had an emergancy or something to bring if you go on it in lessons it should be taken off you but you can still bring it in

I definitely disagree with you. being a high school student I’ve been left at the school for various reasons and had to call home for a ride home. Now, you’re going to say that I should have used the school’s phones. Well, the answer is to get a ride when that happens, I have to walk from the school to someplace in my hometown, and if I didn’t have my cell phone my Mother would have a heart attack. Another thing is, when I get my liscense , Im supposed to have my phone with me at ALL times. If I leave it at home, my mom would have a heart attack if I didn’t answer it. Cell phones should be allowed in school, as for an extra saftey device..what happens if your teacher faints (That happened to us a number of times) Cell phones should be allowed at school.

i definately disagree with you. if you are in an emergent need of cell phones then people and teachers are generous enough to lend you.

yea, i really disagree with you, im in the 10th grade right now, and im tellin u that everyone should b allowed 2 have cell phones on them but turn them off in on school hours, because there could be some accidents that invloves the teacher and the students with cell phones can call for an ambulence for the teacher instead of goin all the way down stairs n all the way to the other side of the school 2 tell the office what happened n then they call, that takes more time, and then there could b a school shooting, any student can call the cops instead of waiting for any other class to hear the gun shots and not do anything but get scared n close n lock the dorr to be safe, that way it will take a great amount of time before the police find out, so i believe the cell phones in school can actually save people’s lives
P.S. if the teachers are annoyed by the phones going off in the middle of class, the teachers should remind the students to turn them off, and most times it isn’t the students cell phones that goes off in class, its the teachers phones. (trust me, that happened to me all last week in everyone of my classes, no lie)

i’m not agree. 4 me the phone not should be allowed to school b coz may student try to do smthing bad when they are was in examination. they try to call their frenz at home to ask 4 the answer and their frenz will reply 4 it. student can’t concerntrait in their study b coz they alway thinking about SMS.

I am a high school student working on an oral com report about having cell phones in schools. I am for it. I think that we should be allowed to carry them with us all day. I think that the teachers should let students use them when the work is done. I think this would save on the slyness. If there is a test that day, I would see no wrong in the teacher making the students turn in their phones, and being able to pick them back up when everybody is done taking the test. I would like to hear any opinions on this, for or against it.
