Kids bath time is the best time when children and the parents get to know each other better. This time can be converted into a fun and relaxing time and this depends on the parents how they see it. There are some homes where bath times are considered to be drudgery and kids as well as parents want to get over it as soon as possible. Kid’s bath time should be a transition from a bust hectic day to a relaxed night sleep. If you make a small amount of effort the bath time will turn into magic and fun time.

Here are some interesting ways to add fun to a kids bath time.

Bath toys can be alternated as much as possible so that the kids always find something which is fun to play with. You can even look around in your kitchen for things which may be suitable for the kids to play like the measuring cups, jugs, sieves or whisks. There are some children who can go on playing with a plastic bottles, funnel or jugs. In case you don’t want the kid to play with your kitchen things you can get them quite cheap in dollar stores or garage sales. You can use a plastic colander for storing things also. 

There are fun foam toys or shapes from the local craft store and even make the shapes you like. The shapes can be changed according to moods or holidays also. You can make some petty flowers in summer and spring, Christmas trees during Christmas and eggs and bunnies in Easter. These are also very good learning activities as kids can learn shapes, colors, alphabets or even numbers. Bath time for kids can also teach them to group, sort match etc.

You can take the opportunity at the bath time for kids to introduce them to different types of music as well as to story on CD’s or tapes.

You can give the kids a special treat at the bath time for kids, by having bubble blowing mixture in the bathroom, but be careful that it does not get into the eyes of the child or anyone else. 

Fun can be included by making a colorful bath, by adding some drops of food coloring. You can go for bright colors like green or orange during the Halloween time, red on Valentine’s Day and green and red during Christmas. The bottle of color should be kept away from the child.

Remember that just within some years the practice of having a kid’s bath time will not be there as your kids will grow up and will take their own shower and will not like your interference. The things you do to add magic and fun to the kids bath time during these times will be repaid many times over in making fun memories for your kid and you for the future.
