Science Experiment for Kindergartners
A full description of a fun color activity you can do with Kindergarten aged students.
Materials Needed:
· Yellow, Red, and Blue paint
· Plates or Bowls to mix paint on
· Mixing tool (such as paintbrush, craft stick, etc.)
· Smocks (to avoid messy clothes)
Procedures:
1. Have all students in class predict on a table, what will happen when they mix the different colors together.
2. Divide the class into groups of 3 (if possible) and give each group smocks, enough bowls or plates (depending on the size) to mix all of the colors together and a mixing tool.
3. Have each student in all of the groups mix at least one color combination.
4. Make a new graph or chart to show the results and display it in the classroom.
5. Have each student summarize their experiment results and create their own color wheel.
Assessment:
· Observation during experiment
· Assure all students are participating
· Assure all groups are following directions (obtaining correct results)
· Grade color wheel accuracy according to experiment results.
