How will the world end? Will it be smashed into by meteors? Burnt by solar flares? Blown to pieces by nuclear weapons? Maybe, but there is another much more unlikely way. We could be engulfed by a black hole.

So right now this might sound a little far fetched but there is a device called the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. It sends ions down an extremely long tube at near light speed speeds, and then smashes that ion into another ion or group of ions.

So there are rumors that this is an extremely dangerous study that could maybe make a black hole and destroy the earth. Now, scientists have assured us that it is not possible, as in a 0% chance of this happening. But can we be sure? We have been lied to before, had stuff hidden from us, etc. So do not worry because even if this could happen it would be a one in a billion chance most likely.
