Daylight Savings
How it works and how to set up your clocks.
This year, daylight savings time in the USA starts on the second Sunday of March. It will end on the first Sunday of November. Our time will move AHEAD one hour so make sure to set up your clocks. Most computers will do it automatically so don’t set up the time two hours ahead on accident.
Daylight savings time is also the recommended time to check your batteries in your smoke detectors at home.
An interesting fact about daylight savings time is that it does not change in Arizona and Hawaii. Daylight savings time was first put into affect after World War 1. Benjamin Franklin, not Thomas Edison had the idea to come up with daylight savings time.
Time will move ahead in march and of course, back in November.
An easy way to remember if you need to move your clocks back or ahead is to remember ‘Spring forward and Fall back.’
