Five Tips to Not Fail French Class

Five Tips to Not Fail French Class

Bonjour! If you’re like me, then you’re hopelessly failing French class (just kidding, I’m pro at french, I get 90% and higher). Anyways, if you are failing, try these three tips, guarenteed to work!

  1. Listen to your teacher. I don’t care how damn boring he or she is, but I’m pretty sure they’re more educated than you, so they’ve earned their respect from you. Make sure you don’t sit next to your best buddies, who will be bugging you the entire time.
  2. Find the rules. French has many rules to it, if you can memorize all of them, your marks will skyrocket. You don’t really need to know all of them, just remember the ones your teacher taught you. For example, feminine words end with e’s most of the time, and masculine words don’t.
  3. Memorize the hard words. It’s best if you memorize all of the words you learned that doesn’t follow any rules first. Why? Because the ones that do follow a rule are easy, and even guessable, and as long as you know the irregular ones, you’ll also know which are the regular ones.
  4. Sit next to a smart person in class. By sitting next to a nerd, you’ll be able to learn from him/her, and if all else fails, your last resort is to copy from him/her in order to not fail. If you never met him/her, try making a good first impression, give them a compliment, this will make them believe that you’re their friend, therefore, they’ll help you more.
  5. Buy a dictionary. You probably already have one, but in case you don’t, go buy one! It’s not really expensive, a $20 dictionary should be good enough. Getting one is really important, because when you don’t know a word, you can look it up, and in the process of looking it up, you’re memorizing the word, although probably you don’t realize it.

I hope this guide helped you and raised your grades by at least a little…or better yet, a lot. Au revoir!
