Highschool Guide
A few pointers and tips to keep you out of trouble in highschool.
Many people are new to high school and this can be a very difficult time because you are in an environment that is unfamiliar and you are with people that you do not know. There are some things that you can do to make these tricky times easier.
First you should figure out where your classes are in the school ahead of time so that you can find them easily when the school is full of people. You should also figure out who is in your classes so that if you get lost you can follow them to class. you should also plan a route between your classes that maximizes your time even if this means taking a physically longer route to avoid congestion in the halls. you should use your locker effectively so that you aren’t carrying all of your stuff for the day and also not having to run to your locker between each and every class. Figure out which classes can share a binder to save room and make a load lighter. Try to look confident when you are in the halls because then you are less likely to be picked on for being new or lost. Get to your classes on time few things annoy a teacher more than students that are constantly late. Do your homework because this is another thing that can annoy your teachers if you don’t do your homework, also it makes tests easier.

Some other things that you should do are have the materials required for the class like pencils or pens or coloured pencils. Don’t slack off at the beginning of the year because bad marks at the beginning are hard to make up for in the long run. Find a spot to have lunch with your friends because this makes lunch both fun and it keeps other people form picking on you. Make a good first impression because it is very important, you don’t get a second chance on a first impression and if you have a good impression than the year will be much easier. Don’t get stressed out because this will only make things harder for you try to stay calm and figure out how to solve problems. For group work find a group that you can get work done with, this may not be the people that you are friends with because with your friends you might not stay on task. Find a spot to sit that works for you on the first day because where you sit stays the same for most of the year, being early for this helps a lot.
