How to Fake Sick – and Not Get Caught!

Find out how to fake sick to your parents and not get caught.

Now, I am sure you have those days when you can’t stand to go to school, or you need to get out of an event. In this case, you fake sick. But why do you always get caught? If you are faking sick on a school day, it cannot be monday. The reason is that you have just come back from a weekend break, so if you are sick now and weren’t over the weekend, parents will think you just want more vacation time or become suspicious. Read step by step how to fake sick – and make it believable!

  1. Schedule the day you would like to be “sick”. Make sure your siblings or parents will not be home on that day.
  2. Show signs of illness the day before you want to fake sick. For example, don’t eat much food at dinner and go to bed early. Be sure to hint you don’t feel so well and you are very tired. If you get hugrey later, sneak to the kitchen to get a bit to eat.
  3. Make sure you breathe through your mouth so it seems you have a stuffed up nose. If you can, blow out of your nose into a tissue, but don’t let the snot go into the tissue, so your nose will stuff up on its own.
  4. If your parents wake you up in the morning, you should have some kind of bucket by your bed to hint you are nauseous. If your parents are the kind that always send you to school no matter what, you may want to make yourself puke into the bucket for your parents to see. (The old toothbrush in the throat technique)
  5. If your parents ask too many questions, hint that you were working with some one who is sick at school.
  6. If your parents don’t freak out if you have a sore throat, say it feels scratchy the night before.
  7. If you know your parents will want to take your temperature, try to raise it by doing some exercises before they wake you up, or having a warm wash cloth on your head. Be careful, if you overdo it, your temperature may read over 105, and your parents will want to take you to the hospital.
