My Life on The Farm

My Life on The Farm

This is a true account of how I live on a horse farm in Northwestern Illinois.

There are a few things which I think that you all should know, the first being that I have not always lived on a horse farm, and that I was born in the city and lived in the suburbs for years, but that makes me no less a country boy.

When I lived in the city, which was Chicago, I was too young to remember much because this is where the first three years of my life started.  In seek of a better education for me and better life we moved to the suburbs.

We then moved to the suburbs when I was four, we lived there for ten years or better.  I have several true stories that I would like to share in future articles.

We bought a house on the river and we started going there on the weekends.  As time pasted my mom bought a horse, well my horse but I didn’t know it at the time, until I looked at the bank account records!  She worked with him for a couple years until we moved from the place that we were boarding at, which the people who owned it turned out to be the scum of the earth!  We then bought our own place, we have had for a couple years now.  We have four horses, and boarders of our own that makes a total of ten horses on our land.  But that’s not all we have fourteen cats, three dogs, two goats, and a hamster.  I will have biographies for them in due time.  I take care of the horses daily and I have to admit, I like it.

It was not always a laid back job, but it is a job which requires passion, passion for animals and the passion to feel alive.” ~Ryan W. Lovett
