“School vacation is finally here, yes!” It is said every time the hot, sunny summer time comes around. Many people say “is break from school really needed”. I scream, yes! After such a tiring and long year of hard work a month or two really won’t hurt. Seriously, we are not robots!

First of all, summer break helps us as students a lot. We get time to lay back a little raise are stinky feet on the couch and rest our lazy butts down. If students were to go to school all year there wouldn’t really be a balance between schoolwork and time to rest. Many students already feel like robots walking around through the day in their classes. They have been up all night like some type of marsupial working on their assignments. That’s why breaks in between like winter break, spring break and summer break. These give us time to make up for the lost time of sleep.

In addition, not only is our health being harmed but our daily performance is affected by staying up working on assignments also. This happens specially, to kids with after-school activities like clubs and sports. For instance, my friend does basketball every day for two hours straight after school. He has had to skip a test day because of a long and intense basketball game. My friend says that he will have to have his mom call in sick for him to get an excused absence. By doing this most times he will still have to go to basketball practice after school so he won’t really get that much time to study.

All in all, summer break, spring break, winter break and any other days we get off from school are really useful for students to regain their energy for school. These days will also help students get ready for the next day of school and have a productive day where they felt like they could stay awake through class and not waste time.
