Being Grounded

Being Grounded

Would you rather be grounded or not?

Most kids and teenagers know the feeling of being grounded and they also know the feeling of not being grounded. I, personally, know the feeling of being grounded. I know the feeling of both states. Some kids don’t know the feeling of being grounded because they are never grounded. Some kids also don’t know the feeling of not being grounded because they are just always in trouble.

I don’t like being grounded because I can’t do many things. I can’t play video games, go to my friends’ houses, watch television, or get on the computer. There are some advantages to being grounded also. If I am grounded, I am able to get more school work done. If I get more school work done, I get ahead in school and the chances of me getting un-grounded are more likely. Also if I’m grounded I can get money by cleaning the house. If you are grounded, you will try your hardest to do well in school so you can get un-grounded. Being grounded has its advantages and disadvantages.

Not being grounded is a whole lot better than being grounded. When I’m not grounded, I can do all the things that I can’t do when I am grounded. I, personally, would way rather be un-grounded then grounded. The only disadvantage to not being grounded is, you forget about school, you begin thinking only about friends and what you’re doing after school. If your not grounded, you can go to the movies with your friends, go to your friends house, play video games, and do just about anything you want.

If you compare being grounded and not being grounded and you had to choose between the two, many people would chose not being grounded. If your parents do ground you, it isn’t the end of the world. It just means you did something wrong and they are punishing you for it. You will eventually be un-grounded and you will be able to do all of the things when you aren’t grounded. When I am grounded I look at all of the good sides to it. Your parents aren’t mad all the time, you get a lot of school work done, and you can focus on chores and work.
