Convince Your Parent to Let You Do Anything

Convince Your Parent to Let You Do Anything

Want to convince parents to let you do anything? Then this article is for you!

Ever wanted to be able to convince your parents to let you do anything? Ever wanted that newest video game or CD, but need your parent’s permission? Well, then, you’ve come to the right place, as I will help you out.

  1. Research your topic, if it’s possible. The more you know, the easier it will be to convince them.
  2. Be reasonable when asking them for things. Never, I repeat: never ever yell or scream at your parents while asking for something when they say “no”. Kindly explain the situation for them, and how you can compromise.
  3. If they say “no”, ask them what their objections are, and why they think that you cannot. If possible, comfort them for each and every one of their reasons.

Example of conversation

You: Mom, dad, may I have a Xbox 360?

Parents: No, you cannot.

You: (calmly) Why not?

Parents: Because I think you will be spending all of your free time on it!

You: (calmly) Then…How about if I promise you that if you get me that Xbox 360, then I will raise my grades in school. Also, as an added bonus, I will study more and harder.

Parents: (thinking hard about it) Well, then that sounds quite reasonable! Just remember, I will refund your 360 if you do not study harder and have better grades, and also if you are ever rude to us.

You: (keeping excitement down) Of course I will. Promise.

Parents: Then you may.

  1. Prove over time, that you will, and can change something that displeases them about you. Look for these golden opportunities. Your parents will be much more open to this subject if you do.
  2. Never get whiny about something, as this will blow it
  3. Keep the conversation short, and state your reasons and how it will work out for both of you. Remember, a short conversation gives them less time to reconsider if they said yes.
  4. Keep the conversation serious, because if you joke around or mess with them, then they may think of you as not mature enough, and may simply state “no”

Good luck, and remember, keep it simple!

This Method does work in some ways- it depends how you go about it.
I have been learning how to munipulate my parents for years- and it is NO easy task.
1- always convince them that they are right, make them feel like they are smart [they love that] if they say no to something say ‘okay i guess you right, but please think about it’ and nothing more… but try again later.
2- be very responsible before you ask for something, get homework done, do chores, offer to help with things.
That butters them up and if it is for some cellphone or xbox that works so well
3- offer something in return… make a contract with them.
example: if you get me a cell phone i promise to maintain a 85 and above average in school.

^^ try some of these… parents arent rocket science they are just confusing, if you understand how to go about things… it works so well

I just had this same conversation this morning…when your Dad is as stubborn as mine..its not that easy…it took me and my little brother about 3 years to finally convince him to let us get a PS2 and for some reason he regrets that??

berfgetr, posted this comment on Feb 24th, 2009

My mom pulled the “you already have so many consoles, ps2, gamecube, wii, and now you want an Xbox 360!!” I even said I WOULD BUY IT WITH MY OWN MONEY but she said “I don’t want you using your money on that.” It was so stupid. I need a good method beside grades X-X because I can’t even do that!!!

Only a dumb parent would say crap like that.
Nearly all parents are afar more stricter than that.

You make it look so freaking easy.
Most parents would scream if a child wanted something expensive.

Pffffft come up with something realistic.

Ok well if you really wanna convince your parents it is going to take time unless it is for xmas or somthing. Im sorry to those who want to do it quickly because it is extremly difficult. Unless it is somthing small it is going to take time. Usually if you pay with your own money they will let you though. Because it is your money and they want you know what it feels to not have any or much money at all (but truthfully that will never happen unless you are stupid with it.) Mainly just try comprimising with your parents because you should know your own parents week spots and have some idea of how to convince them. Thwe more you do it the better you will get. just do your best considering the circumstances.

honestly. . .uhavenoideahowmuchiwantxbox360, i dont think they are all that great. . .my friend got one and it was used and it sucked. . .he played it maybe 5 times, and then the read ring of death came up. . .after that, he got a new one. . .brand new. . .and it broke again, finally, after paying for live and stuff, he decided to go with the playstation3 just because its free online. . .and the graphics are a lot better. . .unless you buy the 360 new. . .theres pretty no point in getting it. . .srry :[

try murdering yout parents then moving to mexico with the money you took from them, then you might try joining a gang of roving street kids and holagins. If there are no gangs present then adopt some babies and brian wash and descenseatise them to be your ruthless and loyal child army. :)

I tried what it says above and it kinda works. I want the LG NV Touch from verizon wireless but I only have enough for the calling plan. My dad says he will let me get it but he is concerned that if something bad happens and he can’t give me $40.00 a month for my allownce, the bill will come and he will have to pay twice the amount of money. So what should I do know? He is asking me to look at virgin mobile for pay as you go phones, but I really want this phone? What should I do? My email is scubagoose123@yahoo.com. Thanks!

It took me a year to get my Xbox360, it was worth it though! What you can try to do: Ask your parents to give you a small amount of money for special occasions, such as Christmas, b-day ecctera for contributing to the purchase of your desired product instead of getting other presents. This worked for me :) ♥♥♥
