Easily Improve Your Grades at University / College or School!

I know how hard and stressful exams are, and I know you always want really good grades. I always wondered how the people that go out clubbing every night get the best grades and me studying and revising hard get a lower mark! Now find out their secrets and the success at getting better exam marks.

Get yourself down to that club every night!

It’s a fact that people who go clubbing at least once every week get better grades. This is because not only are you having fun, but it is also a great stress reducer from all the coursework and lectures that you have attended. The main reason why it is very good however is because dancing improves your brain power and memory.

Chew chewing gum

Lots of schools and colleges say that eating chewing gum is not allowed so please obey the rules, however in University Lectures and when completing homework or coursework chew chewing gum. By chewing gum it keeps you not only awake and motivated but more blood is pumped into your brain therefore makes you more efficient in learning and helps improve your work overall.

Tidy your bedroom

Believe it or not, but tidying up your bedroom and desk area helps your learning because it reduces stress and subconsciously your mind always hate mess. Having a good place to work and not having to rush and climb over stuff that is on your floor before attending your lectures improves your learning.

Throw away those clothes that you don’t like

If you have a wardrobe full of clothes you’ll never wear, throw them away. If you pick up a piece of clothing and say “Should I keep this” that means you should throw it away. It holds a negative thought and therefore every time you open your wardrobe door to get dressed you will always subconsciously feel depressed.

Drink Tea

After every lecture, drink a cup of tea. By drinking a cup of tea helps you remember what was discussed in the lecture much more easily. It also helps you learn everything you have revised much more easily too.

Smell the flowers

Smelling flowers also is considered to make you more brainier, so when you pass some flowers take a good minute to sniff them!

When doing coursework or homework put on a different pair of clothing

Studies have found that people that do homework or coursework better are the ones who have assigned clothing to do their homework or coursework in. By wearing your every day clothing, decreases your productivity and overall work quality.

Stop daydreaming and start doodling

I am also the one that always daydreams, but if you can try and take as much information from the lecturer as possible. To stop yourself from daydreaming, start doodling. It is said that people who doodle rather than daydream actually take in the information even though they are drawing. It can also help you, because it you doodle the same thing then you can associate something the lecture has said with that picture subconsciously.

Start revising now!

After every lecture and every lesson, just take 5 minutes to read through your notes in the library or in a quite place other than your bedroom. Better yet build a mind map of what you have learnt and stick it in your folder. After every month revisit this information and just go over it again.

Two days before the exam, sit down and revise.

Have a big revising session, and just go over your notes a couple of times. Please remember there is a thing that’s called “Too Much Revising“, and this is actually very bad. Not only can it make you feel ill, but also it can decrease your overall mark. Make sure you revise well but know your limit. When you feel like you can’t revise anymore, relax, take a deep breathe and come back to it later.

The day before the exam, go out and have fun!

The day before the exam, put all your revising notes down and go and have some fun with your mates. Go to the bar and have a small drink and have a good chat. You can discuss a few points which can also calm your nerves and also reduces the stress of wanting to pass the exams. This should only work if you have been revising every other day. Remember to not get drunk. You definitely don’t want a hang over on exam day.

Exam day

Take one quick look at your lecture notes and revision mind maps for the last time just to refresh your mind and go in relaxed and knowing that you can pass these exams with flying colours!

Great tips. I agree with having your desk and space are clutter free. an uncluttered bed and space area= a clear mind.

EXCELLENT tips and as a student myself, I completely swear by revising on the go. Because if you dump all of your revision to the end, you will really suffer so it is good to stop 5 minutes of our busy social lives to just look over what has been taught.
I didn’t know some of these extra things like changing clothing can actually subconciously help you do well at school. Really good tips. Loved it!

Thank-you Atikin and marlenerami26, for the fantastic comments. Yes a few when I learn’t them suprised me, but its the same with housework. If you still have your slippers on, your mind doesn’t want to work, but if you have shoes on you get housework done alot faster.
