We all know falling in love, makes you smile. We know being in love makes you have a pep in your step. I would like to talk about puppy love. The love of a puppy. What makes a child light up at the thought of getting a new puppy. Children don’t think about the puppy becoming a dog. They just see a puppy. Adults can see a puppy and have the same reaction. Adults are more prone to think about the adult side of the dog, which is a good thing to do.

What makes even the toughest man, become boyish, at the sight of a puppy. “Who knows?” All that matters is that someone take the time to love these animals. They are so precious. Puppies are like your children. They must go to the veterinarian, have puppy supplies, and be trained. They are like your babies. You raise them like your children. Puppies can make a cold night, very warm and toasty. They give you a reason to hurry and get home, because you know they have to be fed and taken out. When they become adult dogs, you feel a need to continue to care for them, because you raised them. They are you children.

Puppy love is a powerful love. It is addicting. It can have you on the floor all day playing with your puppy. It can have you missing events, and leaving early even if you do go out, just to get home to  your baby. Puppy love makes children know that if no one else likes them at school, that’s o.k. When they get home, they have a best friend who they can play with and talk to about anything. Oh, that puppy love. How do they reel us in?
