Tips for Studying
Are you having troubles studying for an exam or test or assessment task? Well I’m going to tell you a few things to help you study…
When people study, they do it differently. Some try to memorize their notes while others listen to music while studying! Some don’t let the information sink in so when it comes to the test or exam, they forget what they have read over and over. So I’m going to tell you how to prepare for an exam.

Organisation
Being organised is very important. Don’t just throw your things somewhere in your room and hope to find it later. Try to tidy your room or where ever you study up a bit. Put your dirty clothes away into the wash, put notes your books and pens into boxes and things. A method you should use is that you put your school books into a box and your pens into a tin or a place to store all your spare pens. Keep your room tidy and neat so you can find your things. Change you room from this:

Into something like this:

When you do that, you are now ready to study!
Studying
When studying, many people listen to music while reading and tapping to the rhythm. This is not a very good way to study as you will not really remember the information. A good method of studying is to not get distracted by anything. And I mean ANYTHING! Try to tell your siblings to shut up and not disturb you. You should also not do something else like texting or Facebook.

Music you can listen to (to help you study) would be some classical or baroque music. Music would include Beethoven and Mozart or Bach. This would help study as the music is soothing and relaxing.

To help you study, use colour on your notes. The best colours to use would be a yellow paper with black ink. Other won’t be worse though. It is proven that you remember things more if it is coloured. You can also use the computer for this!

Another note taking method would be mind maps. This make note making much more interesting! When drawing a mind map, you can draw pictures ans add colours. If you would likw to do this on the computer, you can use a program called Inspiration ®.

When you study for 50 minutes, you can relax by doing a cross over activity. You can use your fingers and make an 8 symbol in the air continuously. This relaxes you as when you are studying, you are using your left side of you brain, if you do a crossover activity, you will be using you right side of your brain more. You can do this for 1 minute.
Hope this guide was useful to you,
Cheers!

Good tips. Many may not think organizing as important to studies. But if you make a habit of keeping your study room organized, chances are that you’d start storing the information in the head equally organized, classifying and putting them together with related information.

These tips are great! With kids going back to school, these tips will be very helpful when it is time to study. I admit that I would listen to music while studying, but now I see that it is not the best thing to do.

Awesome article, especially with school coming up. I will keep this in mind. Organization is not only the key to a good study habit, but I feel when I am better organized, I am able to focus on writing.
Great piece you have written
